Getting Your Political Voice Heard
If you watch television, listen to the radio, read the paper or talk with your neighbors the discussions often contain what is happening in political environment. We often feel that our one voice does not or could not make a difference or that what appear to be brighter people then us should be leading the charge of change. I am here to tell you, your one voice can make change happen.
One voice with an idea matching up with another voice have created organizations like MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) NRA (National Rifle Association) or AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) that you cannot dispute have lead about change at the local, state and federal levels. However do not think you need to start an organization to be heard or to bring about change. You do, however need to give validity to your voice by first being a registered voter. Getting registered as a voter is a simple process.
As a registered vote your one voice can make a difference, but it needs to be an informed voice. The state of our media is one in which viewer numbers count, stories are told in less than three minutes and the spin of a story needs to be reactive/exciting to keep audiences engaged so be sure to check the facts. Do an internet search and check several sites to clarify whether the story was unbiased and that the reporter did his research on the subject.
Once you have the facts DO follow up with your Federal, State and Local officials. Your emails and letters are read and you will get a response back from the official. Just imagine if just 40% of voters took the time to respond with their positive or negative comments to our elected officials. We have the power of change. Our elected officials determined their votes by what they hear from the voters, which mean only a few, are making the decisions for the masses.
